Elms Park, Cheltenham
Phil Jones Associates was appointed by Bloor Homes and Persimmon Homes to provide transport consultancy advice in support of a major new garden neighbourhood for North West Cheltenham.
The development will deliver some 4,500 dwellings plus associated, education, employment and leisure facilities.
The site has been designed around walkable neighbourhoods, each with local retail and education facilities to reduce the demand for journeys by motorised modes.
Delivering high quality public transport with a competitive advantage over the car was a key objective of the project, with PARAMICS microsimulation modelling used to identify the effectiveness of proposed public transport priority measures.
A Park and Ride site was also proposed to remove existing vehicle trips from the adjacent arterial route into Cheltenham, thereby releasing headroom for the introduction of bus priority measures.No files available
